This page explains how to request deletion of personal data held by Maketio, operated by Ing. Jakub Havej (IČO 01491563, Czech Republic). It applies both to Merchants who have a Maketio account and to Instagram users who commented on a Merchant's post and received an automated direct message.
If you are a Merchant
You can delete your data in two ways:
- In the app — go to your account settings and choose Delete account. This removes your account, store, products, and associated personal data.
- By email — send a request from your account email to legal@maketio.com with the subject "Delete my data".
When you delete your account we remove your account and store data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (for example invoices and accounting records retained under Czech tax law). Data held in routine backups is purged on our normal backup cycle.
If you connected Instagram, disconnecting your Instagram account or deleting your Maketio account also stops all comment processing and deletes the associated Instagram data described below.
If you commented on an Instagram post and received a message from Maketio
When you comment on a post that a Merchant has enabled, Maketio (on the Merchant's behalf) may store your Instagram username, your Instagram-scoped user ID, the text and time of your comment, the post it relates to, and the messages sent to you.
To have this data deleted:
- Email us at legal@maketio.com with the subject "Delete my Instagram data", and include the Instagram username you commented from so we can locate your records; or
- Remove your comment and stop interacting — Instagram interaction data is in any case automatically deleted on a rolling 90-day basis.
We will confirm and complete deletion within 30 days of a verified request.
What gets deleted
On a verified deletion request we delete the personal data we hold about you, which may include:
- Merchant account, store, product, and profile data (for Merchants);
- Instagram username, scoped user ID, comment text, media references, and direct messages (for Instagram users);
- interaction and log records associated with the above.
We do not control data held on Instagram itself or in a Merchant's own Stripe account; those must be addressed to Meta/Instagram and to the relevant Merchant respectively. For purchase data where a Merchant is the data controller, we will forward your request to that Merchant.
Exceptions
We may retain limited data where we are legally required to (for example, invoices and accounting records under Czech tax law, generally up to 10 years), or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Such data is not used for any other purpose.
